The 21st March event opened with ancestral sounds flowing through Basque Park, setting the tone for a day grounded in culture and connection. This was followed by the soulful sounds of Hina, before the fresh young talent of the Kiribati Rodney Community Youth Group took to the stage, sharing dances inspired by the frigate birds of their islands.

Energy lifted as Te Riri O Te O Dance Group brought powerful drumming and dynamic performances, drawing an enthusiastic response as the crowd joined in for interactive dance moments. Sandy Mill closed out the day with her genre-blending, funky style, including an impromptu jam session with members of Tāmaki Oro Rau.

An expanded food and beverage offering kept queues short and provided a delicious range of options to enjoy throughout the day.

A big thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and contributed to making the event such an energetic and memorable finale to the 2025/26 season.

We’re grateful to the Uptown Business Association for sponsoring the series, all the artists, performers and stallholders who have shared their creative talents and to our small but mighty event day crew and volunteers - your positive energy and hard work brought this community-based idea to life....stay tuned for 2026/27!
