Locals helping build a vibrant community
We’re Uptown locals who spend plenty of time in Basque Park and noticed how perfect it is for a community event, with its natural amphitheatre, shady trees, stone sculptures, seating and pathways. So we decided to create something special - a relaxed gathering where city fringe residents can enjoy live music, markets, performances, and great food.
After years of nearby infrastructure works, this event is a chance to celebrate the creativity and diversity that make the Uptown neighbourhood so unique.

Come along and relax and enjoy a day out with family and friends.
There will be workshops and non-profits to connect with and learn something new in your community.

With programming by Anya Vitali from Cross Street Festival & Eliettes, there will be a mix of popular DJ's, musicians and performers at the December, February and March events.

Located between New North Rd, Symonds St, Newton Rd and Ian McKinnon Dr, Basque Park is positioned to maximise public transport or active transport from neighbouring suburbs and further afield. We encourage visitors to consider walking, scootering or biking to the park. Maybe stop on the way and support one of the local businesses in Uptown by picking up some picnic treats to enjoy in the park!
