Tāmaki Oro Rau handcrafted traditional Māori instruments

TAMAKI ORO RAU 11:00AM

Tāmaki Makaurau based taonga pūoro collective Tāmaki Oro Rau explores the ancestral sounds of Aotearoa and how they resonate in the world today. As these traditional instruments move from revival into a new renaissance, the group shares and explores ways they can be part of everyday life. Come and listen as sound, breath and the natural world work together to restore balance. Tihei Mauri Ora.

HINA - 11:30AM

Hina is the creative project of Tāmaki Makaurau based songwriter Amy Boroevich (Te Rarawa, Ngāti Raukawa). Named after the Polynesian goddess of the moon, Hina blends folk, rock, soul and reo Māori into songs that are both powerful and deeply felt.

Following the independent releases of Muse and Omen, Hina has become one of Aotearoa’s most compelling emerging voices, known for music that carries emotion, storytelling and ancestral connection.

 KIRIBATI RODNEY COMMUNITY YOUTH   12:30PM

Based in Warkworth, this group brings together children and teenagers from the local Kiribati community and surrounding areas. Their performances celebrate and sustain Kiribati culture through traditional dance, inspired by the graceful movement of frigate birds in flight.

Te Riri O Te O is a West Auckland–based Cook Islands dance group founded in 2004 to help young Cook Islanders reconnect with their culture through language, dance, drumming and song.

 SANDY MILL 
2:00PM

Sandy Mill is a vocalist, percussionist and DJ from Gisborne, Aotearoa New Zealand (Ngāti Porou). Known for her soulful voice and genre-blending style, she moves easily between pop, jazz, electronic and experimental music.

Sandy has released several solo projects and collaborated with artists including Neil Finn, Don McGlashan, Hollie Smith, The Bellbirds and Basement Jaxx. She is also a music mentor, radio host and festival DJ.

21st FEBRUARY LINEUP

The February event showcased an amazing range of talent from the Latin community. Live music, dance classes, creative workshops, performers and unique market stalls

RICKY DE MEDEIROS - 11:00AM

Ricky is a highly skilled musician with a unique style that blends elements of Bossa Nova, classical guitar fingerstyle, Latin grooves, and flamenco techniques.

He honed his skills by studying under masters of classical and traditional music in his native Brazil. His talent has earned him recognition as a reference in Latin guitar, and he has performed with several notable musicians, including Latin Grammy Award Winners Romulo Castro and Mireya Ramos.

Ricky has recorded with NZ Music Award Winners LatinAotearoa and performed live on TVNZ with Sony Music singer Yulia.

We're looking forward to starting the day with Ricky's classical guitar solo set.

Fidel and Vivian of Acústica Latina are bringing a special duo performance to Basque Park.

Originally from Colombia and Mexico, this talented pair blend rich vocals, guitar and percussion into a vibrant,

feel-good sound that’s perfect for a relaxed day in the park.

Expect a joyful mix of salsa, cha-cha-cha, bachata, huapango and Latin jazz. 100% live and full of energy.

HAVANA GROOVE - 1:30PM 

Havana Groove is an Auckland-based Latin live music ensemble that brings the passion of Cuban music with its Afro roots, playing Cuban Son, Cha Cha Cha, Salsa and beyond.

 

The band is composed of Mark Baynes (keys), Mike Booth (Trumpet), Marcelo Valencia (Congas and vocals), Ale Held (vocals and maracas).

MR BIG STUFF - 11:00AM

Mr Big Stuff (Timē Sulusi Tuautu) is a cornerstone of Aotearoa’s underground music scene. From vinyl collector to DJ, he’s been spinning soulful blends of funk, jazz, deep house, and breakbeats since the 1990s. A former host on George FM, KFM 106.9, and Base FM, his groove-rich sets reflect decades of crate-digging and a deep love of music that transcends genres.

ISABELLA BEDOYA - 12:00PM 

At just 14, Isabella has performed on stages Auckland wide and recorded at some of New Zealand's most iconic recording studios. A year 10 student at Rangitoto College, she placed second in this year's Play It Strange Junior Songwriting Competition with her song 'In 10 Years'. She was a finalist for the 2025 Play It Strange piece song competition, recording her song 'The Clock' at Neil Finn's Roundhead Studios.Isabella has been developing her craft at Eliette's Music Academy from a young age, taking every performance opportunity she can.

Crystal Chen is a Chinese-New Zealand multi-disciplinary artist whose work bridges music and visual art. Her debut album, You Can Call Me CC (2025), fuses soul, jazz, and R&B in a 12-track journey through identity, love, and self-discovery.

MANUEL BUNDY - 1:30PM

Manuel Bundy is a DJ based in Tāmaki Makaurau. His sets combine a wide range of styles, from soul to reggae, downbeat to disco, hip hop to house. He has held residencies at many well-known spots around the city, like Shortland Bar, Cause Celebre and Khuja Lounge. He is a member of the mighty Turnaround DJ crew, and has played alongside and supported legendary touring DJs and acts including Norman Jay, Gilles Peterson, Coldcut, DJ Krush, J Rocc and Kenny Dope.
